Article Student Living is hiring a Regional Manager to join our Student Housing team. The Regional Manager is responsible for the financial control and budget management, physical operations, leasing and marketing, capital projects, and staffing/HR at all the properties, and will directly manage the site-level property management team in their portfolio. This is a regional role with travel up to 50%. You must live within one hour of a major airport.

You will report to the Regional Vice President of Operations.
This is a remote position with 35% - 50% travel.
The pay range for the role is $110K-$115K, plus an annual bonus.
People Management:
Hire and train the full-time teams, providing leadership and support to ensure all properties are sufficiently staffed
Cultivate site team support through coaching, leadership, and developing bottom-up thinking
Partner with the Director of Training and Support on site-level onboarding for new employees
Ensure that on-site managers keep the team informed, and inspired through daily “huddle ups”, weekly meetings, implementing goals/incentives, and providing feedback from the student team
Work with the corporate HR team and other Property Management leadership to address and improve any performance problems, documenting adequately, communicating with supervisors and HR, and terminating
Financial Management:
Achieve the highest possible net operating income throughout the portfolio; implement cost control and revenue and leasing improvement, identify trends and recommend strategies and adjustments, and ensure site-level teams are observing budgets
Develop yearly operating budgets and forecasts with the SVP of Operations
Provide regular reporting of income and expense line items to the corporate team
Maintain the receipt and reconciliation of deposits, rent collections, and charges
Monitor and approve the receipt, reconciliation, and coding of all vendor invoices
Ensure property close-out is completed on time and the owner's financial reports are accurate
Leasing and Marketing Management:
Provide leadership to site-level staff around all leasing and marketing activities and goals
Analyze current leasing/marketing trends and propose alternative strategies to overcome issues
Ensure that all marketing tactics, correspondence, and materials follow brand standards and fair housing
Ensure staff leasing techniques are used in closing, follow-up procedures, and signing and documenting leases
Deal with resident complaints, concerns, and requests to ensure resident satisfaction
Partner with the Regional Maintenance team on all maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation activities
Ensure on-site managers set high curb appeal standards regarding cleanliness and organization within the leasing office, sales floor, and tour route
Provide Capital improvement suggestions
Your Track Record:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in the student housing property management space
Knowledge of the student living property management industry and experience with business operations
Regional or Area Management experience preferred and preference for experience in both new development lease-ups and current operating properties
Excellent project management
Skills and ability to manage a remote team
