Job Description


The Radiologic Technologist position is responsible for working directly with patients and assisting radiologists and/or staff physicians while administering x-rays in the course of radiological examinations in concordance with physician orders. The Radiologic Technologist shall be capable of operating radiologic equipment, perform a variety of radiological procedures, operate the picture archiving system, use radiographic supplies including contrast while providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic clerical and housekeeping functions such as examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval (HIS, RIS, PACS), and infection control.



The level I technologist shall be competent in the following areas: general radiography, routine fluoroscopy including barium studies, portable and emergent trauma radiography, radiographic technique formulation, radiographic quality control and basic surgical radiographic procedures. Level I technologists exercise professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service, age specific criteria, safety and medical ethics. Other duties as assigned.



Education:  Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. AAS or BS in Radiologic Sciences preferred.  Registered with the ARRT.  The candidate must successfully pass the national registry test for radiologic technology within 12 months from the start of being registry eligible.



Experience:  Two years of Clinical experience in an ARRT accredited radiologic technology program. Additional on the job experience is preferred but not required.
