Job Description

Gwynedd Manufacturing is seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in launching a new product line. This role will focus on the design and development of outdoor cooking products.

You will be instrumental in bringing these products from concept to reality—owning the design process from early concept through prototyping and into production.

This position sits under Gwynedd Manufacturing, a well-established defense contractor supporting firearms and knife production for government and law enforcement agencies. Backed by a stable and successful organization, this role offers the unique opportunity to help build and shape a new brand in the outdoor space—without the uncertainty of a startup.

You’ll have the autonomy to design and innovate, the support and resources to execute, and the ability to make a direct impact from the ground up as this new product line takes shape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop 3D models for new products

  • Generate detailed technical drawings to support manufacturing and inspection

  • Build, assemble, and evaluate prototypes for concept validation and pre-production testing

  • Perform testing, analysis, and engineering calculations to refine and validate designs

  • Own and manage top-level assemblies and documentation throughout the product lifecycle

  • Support both long-term development projects and ad hoc engineering needs

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered on time and at a high standard
