The Sustainability Lead for the Consumer Dairy Netherlands business plays a pivotal role in shaping, driving, and delivering FrieslandCampina’s sustainability strategy across all commercial activities in the Dutch market. This role connects strategy development with customer-driven execution, ensuring that FrieslandCampina’s sustainability ambitions translate into compelling propositions for consumers, retailers, and society.

Acting as a thought leader across the NL commercial organization, you guide brand teams, private label teams, and sales account teams in embedding sustainability into decision-making, communication, and business development. You are the central link between external expectations, internal strategy, and the commercial reality of bringing sustainable dairy propositions to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bridge strategic exploration with commercial execution, helping internal teams understand future sustainability directions and ensure that customer needs are reflected in strategic plans.
  • Translate sustainability ambitions into scalable, commercially viable solutions for retail customers.
  • Lead complex sustainability projects, coordinating cross functional stakeholders across sustainability, supply chain, quality and commercial teams.
  • Maintain close working relationships with NGOs, certification bodies and external experts and ensure alignment with market, customer and supply chain realities.
  • Work with corporate teams and the cooperative to evaluate scenarios and make choices that drive the sustainability agenda and help both farmers and customers at the same time.

You will join the retail sustainability team, part of the commercial department of the business groups Europe and Retail and Americas. These are the two business groups responsible for selling both branded and private label products across the regions Europe and the Americas.

Travel to customers, farms and other European locations will be occasionally required within this role.
