Position Purpose

The Night Butler is responsible for various aspects of the food and beverage and housekeeping departments. The Night Butler works a normal 3rd shift performing a variety of different duties. This position is on-call.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes after hours room service orders from guests and delivers food to guests.


• Responsible for cooking the room service orders after line cooks leave.


• Assists with the breakfast buffet set-up and the set-up of the Terrace Bar.


• Delivers newspapers to guest rooms as requested by guests.


• Assists with cleaning the back of the house.


• Washes dirty dishes to maintain a clean dish pit.


• Serves as the bellman and assist the front desk with late check-ins.


• Assist with any types of emergencies that might occur overnight.


• Changes sheets and helps with guest room changes.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

• Must have working knowledge of housekeeping, food and beverage, and front desk departments.


• Able to learn overnight menu and prepare food in accordance to hotel specifications.


• Able to work with minimal supervision.


• Excellent customer skills.


• Working knowledge of dishwashing machine.


• Knows in-room dining set-up.
