Job Description


  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS




    • The staff RN is a registered, professional nurse who is responsible for providing individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. The staff RN has a knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The nurse coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered. An IV intervention nurse who establishes IV access and assesses, monitors and evaluates patients response to IV contrast and cardiovascular medication, and echocardiogram imaging agents.





  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)




    • Experience:




      • Minimum of three years professional experience in area of health care.





    • Education and Training:




      • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.





    • License, Certification & Registration:




      • BLS and ACLS required.



      • RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts





    • Other Requirements:




      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated leadership or oganizational abilities. Demonstrated history for ability to communicate with physicians. Analytical skills necessary to clinically assess medical records and communicate clinical detail required. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to use Telemetry monitoring: Cardiac monitor, stress test, IV infusion pumps.
