Veterinary Technician – Countryside Veterinary Hospital
📍 Shelton, CT
Full-Time | 4-Day Work Week | No Weekends
Compensation: Based on Experience & Credentialing

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a skilled Veterinary Technician to our growing team in Shelton, CT. We are a busy, established small animal practice committed to delivering high-quality medicine and exceptional patient care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and outpatient appointments
  • Collect patient histories and communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and IV/SQ injections
  • Prepare patients for procedures and support treatment area workflow
  • Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery when needed
  • Educate clients on at-home care and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate records and support hospital efficiency throughout the day

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Proficient in venipuncture and medication administration
  • Comfortable managing appointments/rooms independently
  • Strong patient care and client communication skills
  • Surgical prep/anesthesia knowledge is a plus
  • LVT/CVT required for anesthesia and surgical monitoring duties
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting
