Position Overview

“Blaze the Bear” positively represents Northwood Technical College at various recruitment, community and campus events. Hours vary depending on availability for events and location. Multiple openings are available for this opportunity from ALL Campus Locations. This position will schedule hired candidates based on their availability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Enthusiasm, positive/energetic attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow direction on costume care and transportation
• Ability to act ethically and interact with a crowd or individuals appropriately
• Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

Prior mascot and/or acting experience

Key Responsibilities

• Promote Northwood Tech school spirit and boost morale
• Positively represent the College and maintain Blaze’s image
• Be energetic and enthusiastic at all times while in costume (2 hours max)
• Use large gestures and movements without talking when interacting with people
• Check and respond to event requests in a timely manner
• Attend mandatory training on how to be a mascot
• Abide by expectations in mascot guidelines and Code of Conduct
• Properly care for mascot costume

Physical Requirements

• Recommended height of a performer is 5’8 – 5’11
• Shoe size no larger then 11.5

$12.33 / hour
