Job Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Social Worker 3 / HEAT Program Clinical Supervisor. The successful candidate will:
- Through SUNY University Hospital's Health & Education Alternatives for Teens (HEAT) Program, provide direct clinical services to adolescents and young adults living with HIV and those at elevated risk, with a focus on minority youth and LGBTQ youth in Brooklyn.
- Provide individuals, couples, and family counseling; conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments; screen for mental health and psychosocial concerns; and coordinate referrals for psychiatric care when indicated.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary case conferences and monthly program meetings to ensure coordinated, high quality patient care.
- Provide structured clinical supervision to members of the case management and social work team, ensuring adherence to evidence baaed practices, ethical standards, and documentation requirements.
- Conduct clinical assessments for participants enrolled in behavioral Interventions, contributing to quality improvement initiatives. supporting grant deliverables related to menial health services, and maintaining compliance with hospital and funding agency standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- 2+ years of post-licensure clinical work experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing mental health services to adolescents and young adults.
- Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
