Job description:
The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate, compliant, and timely employee compensation by managing timesheets, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and direct deposits. They process payroll, maintain records, and resolve pay-related inquiries in accordance with company policies and tax regulations.
- Payroll Processing: Compiling, reviewing, and processing weekly payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, and deductions.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, and withholding requirements.
- Record Maintenance: Setting up, maintaining, and updating payroll records, including employee banking, tax forms, and benefits data.
- Reporting: Reconciling payroll accounts, preparing reports for management, and assisting with audits.
- Employee Support: Addressing employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholding.
- System Management: Utilizing payroll software (e.g., HRIS) to manage data entry, verification, and payroll disbursement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience ( 1–3 years) in payroll, accounting, or HR.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with associate/bachelor's degrees in accounting or business preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Workday), MS Office (especially Excel), and strong attention to detail.
