As a Site Support Operative, you’ll provide support to all operational staff across our Hillcrest site (a facility that breeds and cares for animals). This really is a role with variety, as you’ll cover multiple areas across site.
You’ll be managing goods as they’re delivered to site, you’ll record deliveries, and receipt using the Oracle warehouse management system. You’ll demonstrate good stock rotation practices, paying close attention to product type and expiry dates as appropriate. You’ll then package and deliver these goods to our teams and buildings across our site.
You’ll support site maintenance activities such as gutter cleaning, weeding, road work, painting, housekeeping, and general cleaning of all external areas.
You’ll also collect waste goods from our units, segregate by waste type, empty and exchange waste bins, and dispose of them all waste streams correctly.
In addition, you’ll wash and sterilise cages and equipment using a dedicated cage wash machine and our site autoclave.
About you:
You may have worked in a yard, a warehouse, you may have been a labourer, or you may have been in a role where you provided physical support across a busy site.
You’re not afraid of hard work, and performing physical, tasks. You’re comfortable working in all weather (many tasks are performed outdoors).
It’s essential that you’re a great team player with a reliable and proactive approach to work. You’re flexible and happy to support colleagues with a variety of tasks.
A driver’s license is essential, as you’ll be driving EV vans around site to collect and transport goods. It would be great if you had a counterbalance FLT qualification, but that’s not essential as we can help you to get yours.
You have a strong attention to detail and can stick to procedures. You have a level good of spoken/written English and you’re able to understand written and verbal instructions.
You also need a compassionate and humane approach to animals.
