Job Description

Summary:

At Double JJ Resort, we are committed to providing a quality dining experience for all our guests. As a qualified cook, you will help prepare menu items under the guidance of our head chef. The cook will play a vital role in upholding our food safety and cleanliness standards. In addition, you will assist anyone on the team including the banquet chef, the banquet captain, and/or any manager with food preparation and cooking throughout the resort. Double JJ Resort is committed to creating memorable and delicious food experiences for our guests, and we recognize that having a talented staff is essential to achieving this goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to instructions.
  • Prepare, wash, chop, and plate meals on par with the head chef’s standards
  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the kitchen team for seamless meal execution
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at workstation and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
  • Make sure that food is labeled, dated, rotated, wrapped, and taken care of properly
  • Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
  • Maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
  • Ensure cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage, and helping with dishes as needed
  • Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
  • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the head chef
