    The District Staff Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Teaching and Learning.  

    Terms of Employment:

    • Position occupied by a tenured licensed teacher.
    • Receives 5 extended contract days.
    • Receives a $3,000 annual stipend.

    Job Summary/Purpose:

    The District Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for leading, coordinating, and evaluating the district's staff development programs and activities. This role involves comprehensive planning, budget management, communication, and ensuring compliance with professional licensure requirements for all staff.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    1. Staff Development Planning and Leadership

    • Facilitate monthly meetings of the District Staff Development Committee or Core Staff Development Committee.
    • Prepare, implement, and finalize the District Staff Development Plan and Handbook annually.
    • Plan and coordinate the district staff development days. Support site chairs in planning site staff development days.
    • Plan school year staff development activities, including mapping out professional development days and generating plans for any flex days.
    • Support sites in meeting their staff development goals.
    • Determine and finalize the annual budget distribution for staff development activities.

    2. Program Management and Evaluation

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of staff development activities and initiatives.
    • Plan, manage, and award Best Practices Grants, including updating and sending the application form to staff. Monitor Best Practice Grant submissions to ensure they move through the approval process.
    • Assist with the development and evaluation of the yearly Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness report.

    3. Fiscal and Budget Oversight

    • Prepare and monitor the staff development budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and prevent overspending.
    • Send stipend requests for site chairs first and second stipend requests to the business office/payroll.

    4. Licensure and Compliance Coordination

    • Coordinate with the Office of Teaching and Learning and the district continuing education committee to monitor staff clock hours and relicensure requests.
    • Ensure all licensed teacher clock hours submitted to Proserva are approved/denied at monthly staff development committee meetings.
    • Ensure relicensure applications are accurately reported to PELSB.
    • Enter all staff development day training into Proserva for relicensure clock hours.
    • Ensure all licensed staff are accurately entered in Proserva with the correct building assignment and remove staff who leave the district
    • Meet with the Office of Teaching and Learning after monthly meetings to upload clock hours into PELSB.
    • Work with the Office of Teaching and Learning to update and send the relicensure letter to staff who need to renew their license.

    5. Communication and Administration

    • Develop the annual Professional Development calendar for the school year.
    • Coordinate communication across the district and disseminate information to Administration, Directors, Teachers, and Classified Staff.
    • Ensure information on the district staff development website is current.
    • Maintain the license renewal page for staff.
    • Maintain Staff Professional Development Request forms for each school year and share with building secretaries.
    • Invite new substitutes to a one-day orientation and coordinate training with the preferred building coach and integrationist. 
    • Coordinate the planning and execution of the annual LEEA and ESS banquets, including managing nominations, creating voting ballots, sending ballots to all staff, and assisting Dana Johnson with registering recipients and admin for the award banquet. 
    • Maintain documents and records in the shared Staff Development Google Drive.
    • Maintain a list of student teachers and placements.
