The High School Health and Physical Education Teacher is responsible for promoting students' physical fitness, health awareness, and overall well-being. This position involves developing and delivering engaging lessons that encourage lifelong healthy habits, physical activity, and knowledge of wellness concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement standards-based curriculum for health and physical education courses
• Teach a variety of physical activities, fitness concepts, and health topics (nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, etc.)
• Assess student progress and provide regular feedback on performance and growth
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility
• Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and parents to support student success
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field
• Valid Nebraska teaching certification/licensure in Health and Physical Education
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels
