Safe School Aide (Duty and Actions)

Safety/Environmental description

• Timely and Observant Supervision During (Breakfast) (Lunch)    
• Timely and Observant Supervision During (Bus Duty)
• Exterior doors locked within 10 minutes of tardy bell  
• Utilize random supervision patterns on campus throughout the day, including parking lots.
• Actively present in halls during passing periods "guiding" students to class on time
• Hourly checks on exterior doors to make sure they are closed/locked
• During class time, walk interior hallways and verify student passes .
• Check bathrooms and locker rooms throughout the school day.
• Walk through gyms, library, counseling office throughout day
• Random camera checks on interior and exterior cameras 

Relational Goals

• Learn random student names, interests, build relationships with all students not just "behavior" students
• Learn all school employees names, be friendly and approachable.
• Connect with one "new" and any habitual tardy student daily
• Model respect to students even when not being given
• Communicate often with Safe School colleagues 

School Culture Goals

• Closely Monitor and enforce school Dress Code guidelines/expectations. Document in IC.
• Look for and provide recognition when students display "Acts of Kindness" or "Good Citizenship"
• At the beginning of each week, Safe School aides will remind staff of assigned duties. (Bus Duties)
• Thank and interact with teachers who are in the halls during passing period
• Assist ISS Facilitator with Tardy management protocols
• Support admin and teachers, in actions and words. 

Miscellaneous

• Timely and accurate submission of IC behavioral referrals as they occur  

Become proficient in understanding and producing DDRC packets
