Lifeguard 

Reports: Fitness Center Manager 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Responds to emergency situations in accordance with policies and procedures.   Enforces pool safety regulations.  Assist with the general cleaning of the facility and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Preferred:  High School diploma or equivalent

License/Registration/Certification:

• Required:  American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or plans to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Experience:

• Required:  Must be at least 15 years of age

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions. 
• Ability to maintain a high level of readiness, evaluate conditions for safety, and initiate aquatic emergency action plan as required. 
• Ability to communicate and interact with members and guests in the pool and at the front desk. 
• Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision. 
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
