Assistant Boys’ Soccer Coach


Blue Springs School District


2026-2027


 


Position Summary:



To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. Assist the soccer program at Blue Springs High School.



  • This position reports to the Activities Director and Head Boys’ Soccer Coach

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.

  • Salary range is $5,046 - $5,550


Essential Functions:



  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the rules and fundamentals of soccer.

  • Coach’s individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport/activity involved.

  • Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.

  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport/activity is conducted at all times that students are present.

  • Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.

  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.

  • Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport/activity.

  • Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in this sport/activity and is consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition.

  • Adheres to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow-up.

  • Works closely with the athletics director in scheduling interscholastic contests.

  • Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, etc.

  • Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.

  • Accounts for all equipment or delegates the responsibility.

  • Provide emergency first aid.

  • Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the athletic/activity program.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervises students in the program.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

Experience: Previous experience in coaching soccer preferred.


Education: Educator certification preferred. Must hold a valid Missouri teaching certificate or be eligible for a substitute teaching certificate (minimum 60 college credit hours.)
