Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Production Lead supports the coordination and direction of production personnel. This role is responsible for helping implement company policies, maintaining production efficiency, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to meet production schedules and optimize operating efficiencies, including coordinating maintenance and repair activities to maximize uptime and labor utilization.
- Perform machine adjustments and demonstrate strong technical knowledge of machinery, materials, and manufacturing processes in Injection Molding.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production reports.
- Oversee shift activities in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with service equipment, including cooling towers, compressors, railcar unloaders, and chillers.
- Provide backup support for Supervisors, Material Handlers, and Production Assistants, with a solid understanding of packaging systems.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with Health & Safety policies.
- Ensure accurate data entry and validation of production information within the manufacturing system.
- Provide break relief for operators, including production packing duties.
- Perform blending, mold changeovers, cleaning, and production setup as required.
Requirements:
- Supervisory experience in manufacturing environment or demonstrated leadership skills is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cooperative environment.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Licensed (or capable of being licensed) forklift operator.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
- First Aid Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule:
This position follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, changing every two months:
- Days: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Nights: 9:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.
The rotation follows a 2-2-3 schedule:
- Week 1: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days
- Week 2: Off 2 days, work 2 days, off 3 days
This means every other weekend is off.
Pay:
The range for this position is $30 – 36 per hour. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and work location.
