About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor to join the Guinness Partnership Team. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy based in our Oldham office. We are currently working to a hybrid working style.

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will join our high performing, enthusiastic and friendly team and will play a critical role in assessing and enhancing our internal control environment through the planning, delivery and reporting of a programme of internal control and compliance reviews across all areas of the business. 

You will engage with stakeholders at all levels and promote good practice, providing insightful recommendations to embed good practice and improve the control framework.  You will also deliver a responsive service to senior management into irregularities or suspicions of fraud.

At the Guinness Partnership, we have an outsourced Internal Audit function, and the role of the Senior Internal Auditor will be to complement the work of Internal Audit through the delivery of responsive and informed controls compliance reviews, reporting outcomes to the Executive Team.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a dynamic and compliance-driven individual who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of internal audit standards, risk management, and governance frameworks, bringing strong analytical and problem solving skills. You will be able to evidence experience of delivering complex, riskbased assurance work with integrity, independence, and professionalism, managing multiple assignments to agreed deadlines. 

You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:

  • Comprehensive experience of leading and delivering assurance activities including those of a complex nature using defined internal audit methodologies including risk-based auditing.

  • Experience of managing multiple work assignments concurrently within an agreed plan and deliver to specified deadlines.

  • Ability to re-prioritise workload in response to requests for urgent work. 

  • Experience of using data analysis within auditing and developing data led controls.

  • Proven experience of operating objectively, independently and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the IIA Standards and Code of Ethics.

  • Excellent oral and written communications.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable skills:

  • Lead audit experience within the public sector and knowledge of public sector risk management and governance practices.

  • Understanding of housing sector and regulatory environment.

Essential qualifications:

  • A recognised accountancy or internal audit qualification (e.g. CCAB/CIA/CMIIA).
