Snapshot of Daily Duties:



Schedule: Full time - hospital and clinic coverage, occasional weekend and holiday coverage




  • New inpatient consults, Inpatient follow-up visits

  • Provide care to patients in the following settings:

  • Routine follow-up visits in the office

  • Urgent follow-up visits in the office

  • Urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits

  • Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results).

  • Participate in clinical continuous quality improvement activities.

  • Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.

  • Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures.

  • Administer medications and injections.

  • Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.

  • Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.

  • Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.

  • Maintain and review patient’s records, charts, and other pertinent information.

  • Triage patient telephone calls and provides consultation.



Must Haves




  • Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license.

  • Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must, knowledge of billing services is required, understands the various responsibilities physician/NP/Patient relationship.

  • Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.

  • Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required, or Basic Life Support (BLS) required
