Position Summary

Cardinal Couriers is seeking a dependable and experienced AZ Driver to join our team in Mississauga. This is a fast‑paced, physically demanding role that involves loading freight into company vehicles and completing scheduled routes to ensure safe, timely, and accurate deliveries. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong driving skills, attention to safety, and a commitment to excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy trucks in compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
• Transport freight over assigned routes while meeting delivery schedules
• Load, secure, and stabilize cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Offload shipments and verify quantities against delivery documentation
• Perform hand‑bombing and tailgate deliveries using a pump cart
• Navigate assigned and unfamiliar routes efficiently
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections (brakes, tires, lights, etc.)
• Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate records for hours of service, mileage, and deliveries
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and internal teams
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at delivery locations
• Adhere to all safety policies and immediately report incidents or violations

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s licence with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• 2–3 years of commercial driving experience
• Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
• Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is an asset
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a structured, fast‑paced environment
