TITLE: Math Teacher - Red Mesa Junior High School
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Ten (10) months. Salary and work year are to be established by the board.
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Certified Salary Schedule
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES: Under general supervision, teaches one or more classes in the field of mathematics to students in grades 6 through 8, assists in other school programs as assigned, and creates a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student's ability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaches knowledge and skills in mathematics to secondary students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the District approved
- Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt curriculum to the needs of the students with varying intellectual abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional
- Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school
- Develops lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids stressing "discovery" and laboratory learning
- Demonstrates mathematical concepts using models, chalkboard, over-head projector and other standard or teacher prepared instructional
- Designs learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive
- Instructs students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or
- Evaluates each student's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress
- Selects and requisitions instructional materials, books, etc., and maintains inventory
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth
- Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district
- Communicates with parents and school counselors and student
- Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom
- Participates in faculty and/or District committees and the sponsorship of student act ivit ies.
CERTIFICATION: Arizona Secondary Education Certification, Prefer Endorsement in Mathematics Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education
Experience: Highly qualified preferred and experience working with special education classes or students.
License: Driver License
