We are currently seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our Rigging team at ASC in East Hazel Crest, IL.

Position Summary

The Welder/Fabricator must be able to use welding equipment, instruments and stay within specified tolerances. They must have the ability to maintain production rates and manufacture prints.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints to determine correct fit and tolerances.

  • Understand welding machine operation and fitter/welding burning equipment.

  • Perform all functions associated with welding preparation and welding.

  • Conduct appropriate quality checks of equipment.

  • Determine correct machine settings and tolerances.

  • Monitors work environment for hazards and maintain healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience in Mig, Stick, and general fabrication skills, required.

Qualifications

  • Must have basic skill set to operate all welding tools safely and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently in a production-oriented environment.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Ability Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds).

  • Ability to be mobile throughout facility to communicate with other departments.

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for extended periods of time.
