Job Summary:

The (Part-Time) Commissary Associate has responsibility to produce quality food product in accordance with Spinx policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but not limited to:

  • Punctual and regular attendance as scheduled among all days, shifts and hours of operations.
  • Responsible for adherence to applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Follows all schedules and personnel scheduling policies/procedures.
  • Follows all food service guidelines enforced by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.
  • Follows all safety guidelines for all food service equipment and usage of.
  • Exhibit good hygiene and hand washing practices.
  • Ensures the Commissary manager is aware of all food losses.
  • Responsible for proper food preparation as assigned.
  • Responsible and accountable for facility, its physical image, sanitation, maintenance, equipment, and inventory.
  • Prepare Kitchen products according to recipes.
  • Complete daily prep lists and job assignments
  • Report safety violations and hazards immediately
  • Document product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
  • Maintain high productivity levels and ensure the quality, palatability, and presentation of all in-house production.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required to work less than 35 hours per week for part-time and 35+ hours per week for full-time classification.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions. Able to speak, read and write the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and proportions to practical situation.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is required to clean the location, parking lot and surrounding area. The employee must regularly lift & move up to 10 pounds & occasionally lift &/or move up to 50 pounds & be able to stand physical demands of a 4 to 12-hour shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with equipment containing extremely hot elements and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is exposed to temperatures of occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles and extreme cold. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Cold room associates will work in a refrigerated environment of 40 degrees F. Warm clothing, a hat and knit gloves are required.
