About the Role 

Our Northern Europe Energy Storage team is expanding into new territory. We invite you to make a difference in the energy transition and join the team as our first energy storage consultant in Poland. We provide advisory services spanning the entire life cycle of grid-scale BESS projects and systems, including feasibility studies, operational services and risk assessments. Clients are developers, investors, suppliers and authorities. In this role, you will be our specialist and first point of contact for energy storage activities and projects in Poland. You will collaborate with DNV’s local renewables team as well as your international colleagues to set up and run energy storage projects, in Poland and elsewhere in Europe. 

Role and Responsibilities 

As our Senior Consultant Energy Storage, you will lead and work on multidisciplinary technical consultancy projects for most of your time (60 - 70%). Technical topics include identifying risks and mitigating measures for BESS projects, design review, and/or safety and regulatory compliance. The remaining time you will be active on developing the energy storage business in Poland and beyond. You will monitor developments in energy storage market in Poland and abroad and support the team with making strategic choices and continuously improving our way of working. 

Tasks you can expect in your role as Senior Consultant Energy Storage:

  • Execute consultancy/engineering projects on energy storage systems, which could include business case assessments, technical due diligence, owner’s engineering, safety / design reviews, and/or training.
  • Independently drive business development with a focus on Poland, generate proposals, and build client relationships.
  • Manage smaller and larger projects within and across international teams.
  • Present DNV’s services at customer meetings and events.
  • Support DNV's mission and vision and having fun doing it!

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrotechnical engineering, sustainable energy technology, or similar.
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in the energy sector or related technologies, especially in Poland
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience with grid-scale energy storage systems/applications/regulations
  • Advanced project management skills and understanding of energy storage in transmission and distribution systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills in English and Polish.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
