JOB SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Therapist provides specialized knowledge and skills to adequately perform psychiatric and mental health evaluations and assessments. This role provides guidance for the work distribution of non-licensed mental health staff that are assigned under his/her team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide behavioral health services, such as talk therapy to individuals representing a broad range of mental health symptoms and associated functional impairment concerns.

  • Perform evaluations and assessments to evaluate patients� mental health and develop individual treatment plans based on patients� individual needs.

  • Practice in collaboration with staff to manage patient care.

  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of mental health care management, principles and implications of standards for quality of care, quality measurement, monitoring, and related features of today�s healthcare environment.

  • Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.

  • Skill in planning, organizing, and time management.

  • Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and problem solving.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet established goals and objectives.

  • Ability to maintain high levels of professional and personal integrity.

  • Ability to convey professional demeanor and sound judgment in dealing with patients� care, protection of patient privacy, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to translate general administrative guidelines into specific action.

  • Ability to act as a good representative of the company.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Social Work strongly preferred but would also consider a master�s degree from an accredited educational in Counseling or other related Behavioral Health Field. Acceptable licenses include LCSW, LISW, LIMHP, PhD, PsyD.
