Job Description

Location: Monterrey, Mexico (city or metropolitan area only)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site Monday, Wednesday & Friday | Remote Tuesday & Thursday)
Schedule: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Department: Finance Shared Services

Position Summary

The Shared Services Accountant will support a range of accounting activities within NOV’s Finance Shared Services organization. This role contributes to accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close processes, and effective transactional execution across multiple business units in North America. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to NOV policies, and participation in process improvement initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities General Accounting (GL) & Month-End Close
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
  • Support month-end close procedures and prepare financial schedules and reports
  • Provide accounting information and analysis to internal stakeholders
Intercompany (IC) Accounting
  • Process intercompany invoices and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve discrepancies with partner entities
  • Support intercompany billing and month-end close activities
Billing, Revenue & AP/AR Support
  • Prepare invoices and verify accuracy of billing documentation
  • Validate transactions, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support revenue processes
  • Assist with AP/AR tasks, non-trade transaction reviews, and issue resolution
Compliance, Controls & Reporting
  • Assist with internal controls documentation and SOX-related activities
  • Support internal, external, statutory, and tax audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with NOV accounting policies and corporate deadlines
Process Improvement
  • Participate in process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1+ year of experience in accounting, billing, AP/AR, GL, intercompany, or related areas
  • Experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Excel
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and month-end processes
  • English proficiency (conversational to fluent) required for daily communication
