Job Overview 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with 0-2 years experience in the life sciences industry to support our customers during the pre-sales and post-sales process. This will include qualifications, demonstrations, installation, and training. 

These systems are primarily sold into the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, so a Master’s in cell biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field is absolutely necessary for this role.  

This role will also involve close interaction with the sales team to provide pre-sales technical support to build new business and achieve expansion in existing accounts across EMEA. 

The Field Application Scientist will be a strong internal voice of the customer to provide feedback on existing and new applications to product management and the business. 

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities 

As a Field Application Scientist, you will: 

  • Provide expert support during pre- and post-sales activities, including scientific, technical, and application assistance. 
  • Deliver hands-on training by scheduling and managing demos, instrument installations, and customer onboarding sessions. 
  • Simplify complexity by presenting technical material in an engaging and accessible way, while professionally addressing questions or objections. 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and demonstrate tailored product solutions. 
  • Assist customers with assay development, data analysis, and reporting to support their equipment purchase decisions. 
  • Monitor industry trends by maintaining knowledge of competitive products and emerging technologies. 
  • Advocate for customers by acting as the voice of the customer to internal teams and sharing valuable feedback about product performance and market needs. 
  • Build relationships by resolving inquiries, investigating complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction. 
  • Contribute to market growth by supporting collaborations, preparing technical materials for seminars, and representing the company at scientific events and trade shows. 

Who are we looking for? 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need: 

  • 0-2 years experience in the life sciences industry. 
  • A Master’s or PhD in cell biology, biomedical engineering or related field. 
  • The ability to work independently from a home-based office. 
  • A willingness to travel up to 75% within the EMEA region. 
  • Ideally based in the UK, Netherlands, or Germany, with access to an airport within two hours. 
  • Experience attending scientific conferences and trade shows. 
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • A self-starter attitude, with creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Experience with neural or cardiac electrical signals via microelectrode arrays, patch clamps, or similar technologies is a plus. 
  • Lab instrument troubleshooting experience is a plus.
