Description
The North America Sales Manager position is responsible for managing all sales activities of Dynax America including strategic planning, protecting and strengthening relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, customer negotiations/conflict resolution, and technical support to customers. Prepares short and long term forecasts. Manages sales department and staff. Represents Dynax America’s international affiliates in North America. Position is based in the Roanoke Plant and requires up to 40% travel to local North American customers and global Dynax locations. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Four year college or university degree in either Business or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience, preferably with Tier 1 OE automotive, or equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 8 years in the automotive industry.
· Proven experience in technical sales, preferably with friction material knowledge and SAE testing knowledge.
· Experience working in the automotive manufacturing industry.
· Knowledge of automatic transmissions, friction material, SAE testing, and manufacturing methods.
· Ability to effectively manage conflict with customers and team members.
· Independent strong negotiation skills.
· Ability to effectively communicate complex matters on the telephone, in person and in writing.
· Demonstrated organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
· Strong MS Office computer skills for communication and customer presentations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
l Proficiency in verbal and written English required.
l Dynamic written and oral communication skills in order to effectively communicate under various business circumstances on a wide variety of business matters.
l Ability to speak well and present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
l Must be fluent in English. (Spanish, Japanese, or German are also desirable).
Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Management and supervision of sales department and staff.
· Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
· Collaborate closely with Global Sales, Research & Development, and Production plant teams to ensure quality, cost, and delivery to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
· Lead communications between our global facilities and our customers.
· Prepares sales forecasts and reports.
· Maintains a deep understanding of product offerings and competitive positioning.
· Requires strong leadership skills, organization, and willingness to take responsibility desired.
· Deliver product presentations, and application discussions tailored to customer requirements.
· Position requires up to 40% travel to local North American customers and global Dynax locations.
· Position is based in the Roanoke, Va Plant.
· Ability to react to basic system alarms and reset as necessary.
· Ability to communicate and work effectively in close proximity with co-workers to inform them of work-related problems, production updates, and to plan, organize, and complete job tasks.
· Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures..
· Agility in multitasking in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
