We’re seeking a Social Service Specialist to serve as the first point of connection for individuals and families seeking assistance. Success in this role means managing a high-volume caseload with accuracy, empathy, and strong attention to compliance—especially when working with individuals facing difficult life circumstances.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including answering questions and scheduling appointments
- Determine eligibility and process applications for programs including HEAP, PIPP, CSBG, and HWAP
- Collect, verify, and maintain accurate, audit-ready client records
- Conduct community outreach and occasional home visits
- Enter and maintain client data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide referrals to internal and external community resources
- Respond to client concerns and ensure timely resolution
- Support quality assurance, compliance requirements, and program operations
- Collaborate with team members to support a positive work environment
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in social services, customer service, or a related field
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurable record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn case management systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily office-based with regular client interaction and occasional travel for outreach or home visits. The role involves high-volume client engagement and supporting individuals experiencing financial or emotional stress.
