Job Description

The primary role of the Leadership & Continuous Improvement Consultant is to work with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction/Chief Academic Officer and other staff to support schools throughout Macomb County.

 

REPORTS TO:           Assistant Superintendent for Instruction/Chief Academic Officer

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Master’s Degree, Michigan Teaching Certificate and/or a degree in School Administration, Curriculum or equivalent.

2.     Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience in a K-12 public school setting.

3.     Demonstrated leadership qualities, especially with adult learners.

4.     Experience in School Administration preferred.

5.     Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Macomb Intermediate School District may find appropriate and acceptable.

6.     Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1.      Leadership, management and supervision in curriculum, systems and organizational design and instructional planning.

2.     Administration and organization methods.

3.     Possess strong communication skills.

4.     Self-directed and motivated.

5.     Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and constituents, both individually and as a member of teams.

6.     Willingness to work a flexible schedule involving early morning, evening, and/or weekend assignments as needs dictate.

7.     Use of technology and learning management systems to support district staff with curriculum and assessment integration.

8.     Research and design methods related to supporting student/teacher performance.

9.     Professional development in the areas of leadership and continuous improvement.

10.  Knowledge of current community, public and governmental affairs and their impact on  district/school system plans and operations.

11.   Knowledge and experience with state and federal programs.

12.  Knowledge and experience with data analysis and instructional program design.

13.  Experience and data analysis of district and state assessment results.

14.  Evaluation of impact using student/teacher instructional delivery data.

15.  Knowledge and experience of Continuous Improvement, Educational Leadership, Professional Learning Communities and Coaching.

16.  Knowledge and experience with MTSS, including Tier 1, 2, and 3 instruction.

17.  Possess communication skills that align with all staff and community stakeholders.

 

RESPONSIBILITES SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

1.      State and federal programs:  Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of district service plans and coordination of services allowable and provided through the Regional Assistance Grant.

2.     Knowledge of state and federal programs and grant management.

3.     Knowledge of MDE’s Statewide System of Support and skills to implement practices as needed by identified districts and schools.

4.     Provide guidance for identified districts and schools through continuous improvement planning and supports, including FCI and educational leadership.

5.     Provide support regarding the fidelity of implementation of research-based strategies and interventions which optimize student learning.

6.     Provide support to district and school level administration (i.e. analysis of summative and local data, technical assistance, systems, and district implementation planning).

7.     Coordinator, writer and editor for new grant opportunities, as well as, annual revision and submission of the Macomb County Regional Assistance Grant.

8.     Provide leadership support to all stakeholders related to local and state assessments.

9.     Provide leadership support reviewing alignments of all programs pre K-12 regarding district and state assessments.

10.  Maintain knowledge of current best practices, research and trends relevant to the area(s) of responsibility and professional development. 

11.   Design and deliver professional learning to support districts with continuous improvement, data analysis and increased student achievement.

12.  Perform all other duties, assignments and special projects as directed by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction/Chief Academic Officer.

 

WORK LOCATION:   Educational Service Center

WORK YEAR:            186 Days

UNION:                   Position would be within the Macomb Intermediate Federation of Teachers

SALARY:                   Consultant salary schedule of the MIFT Master Agreement
