POSITION SUMMARY

The Key Account Manager is responsible for contributing to the development, management and growth for Pharmavite and the Nature Made, MegaFood and Women’s Health brands.  This role assists in developing and executing strategic revenue driving activities. 

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Owns and manages Pharmavite's omnichannel business activity and strategy within the Walmart and Sam's Club portfolio (e.g. item creation and content, digital shelf optimization, online sales and marketing planning, line reviews, and customer presentations
  • Manages customer data platforms (Retail Link, Supplier One, Scintilla, MADRID) for forecasting, new item setup, deduction management, sales reporting, shopper behavior analysis, assortment deep dives, and NIL pick assessments
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with Walmart and Sam's Club merchants and cross-functional teams, including proactive communication and ad hoc requests
  • Partners with the Pharmavite Customer Marketing team to develop and execute marketing and promotional programs
  • Leads financial delivery including trade planning in Exceedra, deduction management, and post audits
  • Monitors competitive activity within the channel and partners directly with the category manager on regular reporting
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional partners including Finance, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Operations
  • This role requires limited travel primarily for: Corporate, sales team and cross-functional partner meetings, and/or Professional events and conferences

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong time-management skills. Strong communication and presentation skills are required for daily tasks. The candidate must have business acumen to analyze sales, financial data and market trends to make informed decisions. The candidate will show strong aptitude for building and maintaining relationships both internally and with Walmart / Sam’s Club business partners.

Other required characteristics include:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities – identifies issues and develops creative solutions to overcome challenges
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in various negotiation tactics
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, supply chain and others
  • Understanding of the CPG industry, products and competitors within VMS
  • Motivated to achieve sales targets and exceed performance expectations
  • Open to relocate for promotional opportunities (2-5 years)

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Foundational knowledge of the CPG industry, MULO+ retail landscape, and omnichannel retail strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and in presentations.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence at the buyer and senior merchant level within a major national retailer
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data from syndicated and retailer-specific sources into actionable business recommendations
  • “Team first” mentality, take on other assignments as needed to support the team
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen including trade spend management, gross margin analysis, and the ability to build and defend a customer P&L
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and customer data platforms; experience with Retail Link, Supplier One, and Circana (IRI) strongly preferred; familiarity with Symphony, Apollo, and Exceedra a plus

CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:

  • Requires 3-5 years field sales experience with a top-tier CPG manufacturer with an emphasis in the HBC (Health & Beauty Care) or Nutritional category preferred.  Key Account experience and headquarter knowledge is preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes Sales Account Management with Walmart/Sam’s Club or Vitamin category experience at national retailer
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Business or Marketing degree is preferred

National Target Base Pay Range: $100,000 - $166,000. The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $110,000 - $184,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. 

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
