Job Description

General Description:

The Certified Welder (Seasonal/Temporary – As Needed) is a Journeyman level position. 

Note: This is a Seasonal/Temporary position, filled on an as-needed basis.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Use a wide range of welding filler metals and welding processes.
  • Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together in accordance with Engineering provided drawings or schematics.
  • Understanding of pre-, post-heat and stress relieve techniques and requirements.
  • Use oxyfuel burn, plasma burn, grind and/or air arc metal as required.
  • Perform welding in accordance with approved welding procedures.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts, using SMAW & FCAW.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Handle both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
