JOB DESCRIPTION


TITLE: SITE SAFETY PROFESSIONAL II

LOCATION: Cayuga, Indiana



OBJECTIVE

The Site Safety Professional II is responsible for managing jobsite safety activities, including developing site-specific safety plans, implementing customer-driven requirements, and ensuring a safe work environment. This role actively participates in pre-task planning and risk reduction efforts. It is a full-time hourly position with benefits. Travel and overtime may be required.



SITE SAFETY PROFESSIONAL II KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Commit to CCC’s people-based safety culture and comply with corporate safety policies and leadership training requirements.
  • Collaborate with the client’s project management team, CCC project executives, engineers, the regional safety manager, trade subcontractors, local authorities, and designers to ensure project success.
  • Develop and implement the site-specific Jobsite Safety Plan.
  • Establish onsite emergency plans and offsite medical arrangements.
  • Conduct safety orientations for all direct-hire and subcontractor employees.
  • Assist onsite supervision in developing pre-task plans.
  • Train supervision in the safety observation program, implement it onsite, and communicate relevant information to employees.
  • Support the project management team in completing incident analyses.
  • Organize and lead weekly Toolbox Talks.
  • Conduct daily site assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and site safety standards, documenting findings.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets.
  • Conduct additional safety training as needed, such as aerial lift, confined space, roof access, cut-off grinder, fall protection, and hazard communication training.
  • Represent CCC professionally in customer safety meetings.
  • Verify employees meet CCC and customer drug testing and safety training requirements before starting work.
  • Maintain the CCC Project Safety Board with required information.
  • Enforce the use of personal protective equipment to ensure worker safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



SITE SAFETY PROFESSIONAL II CORE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 510 certification required.
  • 2 years of experience in heavy commercial construction safety required.
  • Experience with energy/power field construction safety preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens and Narcan administration training preferred.
  • Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and lead safety initiatives onsite.
  • Energetic, proactive, and skilled in implementing and managing site-specific safety plans.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fast-paced, busy, and occasionally noisy work environment.
  • May involve managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • May require outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Occasional work in high or precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, or handling toxic chemicals.
  • Risk of electrical shock and vibration may occur in certain situations.
  • Frequent interruptions to address team members’ needs and vendor requests.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent travel by motor vehicle may be required.
  • Extended hours on construction sites may necessitate physical stamina for navigating the premises.
  • Effective and professional communication with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team setting, is essential.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, is required to perform work safely and effectively.
