The City of Springfield is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Equipment Technician.  The current vacancy is at the City of Springfield's Service Center, a division of Public Works.

 This position handles a variety of fleet activities including services for City vehicles and a variety of equipment. In this role as an Equipment Technician, you will perform skilled maintenance, diagnosis, and repair work on specialized and complex motorized equipment.

Position Duties

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Three years experience in the repair of motorized equipment;
  • Experience must be commensurate with mechanic specialty area required for current vacancy.

Licensing/Certification
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License;
  • For assignments in Public Works, must obtain and maintain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements within the following guidelines:  Pass written portion of exam within 90 days of employment and skills test portion within the probationary period.  
  • ASE certification required within probationary period for assignments in Public Works.
