Triage RN Position Overview

The Triage Registered Nurse is an experienced nurse responding to overnight and weekend calls regarding the changing needs of hospice patients. The Triage Registered Nurse is responsible for answering questions, gathering information, assessing patient needs and when needed, coordinating and directing hospice services/care via phone conference. The Triage Registered Nurse is experienced in nursing with an emphasis on palliative care. The shifts are 8am to 8pm every other Saturday and Sunday.



Triage RN Requirements/Qualifications:




  • Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of practice.

  • Nurses holding a multistate license can practice in other states without obtaining additional licenses while maintaining their Registered Nurse (RN) license in their primary state of residence (PSOR). Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois are not in the Nursing Licensure Compact.

  • Possess or obtain an RN license for the 10 states that we serve and/or a compact license to cover the states before hired. States include MN, WI, IA, SD, IL, MI, MO, IN, KS and NE.

  • Graduate of a professional school of nursing and is currently licensed, certified or registered in the state(s) of practice.

  • Ability to pass DHS background, consumer report, and drug test.

  • If Driving: Valid State Driver’s License, automobile in good working order, automobile insurance in accordance with state and organizational requirements, and an acceptable driving record required.

  • 1+ years of recent experience in hospice/home care preferred.
