Summary of Saturation Family of Churches Residency program:
Missio Church and the Saturation Family of Churches in Syracuse, NY are offering two distinct residency opportunities.
The Ministry Residency is designed for leaders (age 21+) who are exploring a call to vocational ministry and want structured training. Typically lasting six months-one year, this residency emphasizes growth across three areas: personal spiritual formation, theological development, and practical ministry experience. Residents participate in regular plenary sessions, intentional dialogues with pastors, book discussions, and ecclesiology studies, all while serving 15+ hours per week in a local church context (while working part time in the community). The goal is not just exposure, but discernment—helping individuals clarify their calling while developing the character, convictions, and competencies necessary for faithful ministry - in the context of the local church.
The Pastoral Residency is intended for men (21+) who have a confirmed call to pastoral ministry and some prior training. Spanning approximately two years, it provides a more intensive and immersive experience, combining deeper theological development with significant ministry responsibility (30–40 hours per week). Residents engage in ongoing pastoral mentorship through regular dialogues, monthly book discussions, and continued ecclesiology study, all aimed at strengthening conviction, sharpening leadership, and preparing them for long-term ministry. The focus here is not exploration, but full equipping—forming leaders who are ready to shepherd, teach, and lead within the local church and beyond.
