Description
Under the general supervision of ACS corporate management, specifically reporting to the Fabrication Manager. The CNC Machinist (Lathe/Mill) will operate and program CNC lathes and mills to produce high-quality precision parts. The role involves reading blueprints, setting up machinery, and ensuring that all parts meet the required specifications. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient and accurate machining processes during the shift.

Duties and Requirements:
Power on, set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills. Ensure all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide machining operations.
Utilize measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to meet tolerance requirements. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) as necessary.
Recognize, use, and maintain cutting tools, inserts, and tooling. Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance of machinery.
Safely and properly load and unload castings and raw materials. Ensure parts are gathered and meet specifications.
Work effectively with team members and assist in organizing and maintaining the machine shop environment.
Follow manufacturing processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with all quality and safety policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
Must be able to proficiently read a tape measure.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Technical Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification or training in machining is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming CNC lathes and mills.
Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and use of precision measuring tools.
Ability to use hand tools and tooling effectively. Experience with CNC ROTAX and manual lathe programming is a plus.
Work Environment:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Must be able to work mandatory hours and weekends as required.
Must be able to perform repetitive bending, lifting, and working on knees and floor.
Must be able to operate power hand tools.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
