Job Description

Summary:

This internship will support manufacturing operations through process analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role includes assisting with troubleshooting equipment and processes, participating in quality and safety programs, and contributing to various engineering projects. The intern will conduct time studies, support process improvement teams, and may be assigned projects related to product development, maintenance, facilities, or production.
 

Engineering Intern Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of manufacturing process and equipment
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process sheets and work instructions
  • Conduct studies to identify new manufacturing technologies and methods
  • Work with Engineering Team to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Assist with the implementation of quality control processes and procedures
  • Participate in Safety Training and adhere to Safety Protocols in the manufacturing environment
  • Provide support in various projects as needed, which may include reports and presenting findings
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvement teams
  • Conduct time studies and work simplification projects
  • Will be involved in specific projects related to process improvement, product development, maintenance, facilities, production or as may be directed by the Director of Engineering.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Basic understanding of Engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and rectify issues that may arise in the manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of Engineering software tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar from coursework
  • Knowledge in areas like Lean Manufacturing Tools such as 5S, PM, eMaint, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in teams to collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Operators, and other Team members
  • Initiative and self-motivation to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
