The Finance & Data Operations Intern will support both the Finance and Operations teams at company headquarters, offering exposure to core business systems, financial processes, and logistics operations. This dual-role internship is ideal for a student or early-career professional seeking to grow in a fast-paced, impact-driven organization.

 

Job Duties

Finance/Accounting Support

·         Post transactions from bank feeds in QuickBooks Online with accurate coding

·         Review Ramp credit card activity for proper documentation and policy compliance

·         Draft customer invoices and enter data into client portals

·         Assist with monthly financial close, journal entries, and budget-to-actual variance analysis

·         Prepare financial forecasts, estimates, and models for executive decision making

·         Organize documentation for external audits and tax return

·         Help develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and internal budget tracking tools

 

Operations Support

·         Assist with tracking daily field operations activities and collecting timesheet/invoice documentation

·         Perform data entry, analysis, and reconciliation in operational data warehouse

·         Research historical contract information, input into standard format, and analyze

·         Help coordinate vehicle, equipment, or supply usage logs and inventory tracking

·         Review GPS, CRM, or dispatch data to assist with contract compliance reporting

·         Ad hoc tasks to support cross-functional projects across HR, Payroll, Safety, and Operations

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

·         Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Public Affairs, or related field

·         Proficient with Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, filters, basic formulas)

·         Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

·         Clear and professional written/verbal communication

·         Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

·         Self-starter comfortable in a startup-like environment

·         Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, or GPS/CRM tools (preferred but not required)

Summary

As part of its employment process, Interstate Business Solutions may procure or have prepared a criminal background check.
