Description

About the Client:
The client is a retired professional and stroke survivor (2025) who requires full assistance with daily activities. He has limited mobility on his right side but remains social and enjoys an active lifestyle within his community.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming 
  • Provide 1-person assist with transfers (support on left side) 
  • Help with mobility using an electric/manual wheelchair (ensure safe and slow operation) 
  • Accompany client to/from community areas and restaurants 
  • Prepare meals as needed 
  • Encourage and support social interaction and engagement 
  • Run occasional errands and assist with transportation using client’s vehicle 
  • Travel with client to a beach house in Galveston a few times per year (if needed) 

Requirements:

  • Experience with stroke patients or similar care needs preferred 
  • Comfortable providing full ADL support and mobility assistance 
  • Must be patient, attentive, and safety-focused 
  • Valid driver’s license required 
  • Willing to work live-in (24/7 care arrangement) 

Additional Notes:
The client values independence and social interaction. The ideal caregiver is supportive, respectful, and encourages him to continue enjoying his daily activities and relationships.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • COVID vaccinated (or willing to be vaccinated)
  • CNA license or CMA license is a plus!
  • Must have current driver’s license or state identification.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to assignments.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and be competent to perform tasks assigned by Supervisor or Scheduler.
  • Must agree to and pass a criminal history check, an Employee Misconduct Registry check and 3 year driving record.
  • Willing to work at least 8 hours per week(can be multiple short shifts)
