Now Hiring: Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) 

Locations: Northern Virginia: Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Burke, Falls Church, Manassas, Springfield, Vienna, Woodbridge

Available Shifts: Full Time, Part Time, Weekends

 

Are you experienced, compassionate, and ready to lead? At CRi, we’re looking for a Direct Support Professional II to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.

 

As a DSP II, you’ll go beyond basic care—you’ll mentor, advocate, and help transform lives, all while supporting a team and driving excellence.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and mentor staff during shifts

  • Provide direct support based on personalized care plans

  • Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals

  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking

  • Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community

  • Model professionalism and uphold CRi’s core values

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • 3 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 
  • Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
  • Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
  • Ability to cook and manage household tasks. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of at least 50% of DSP (Direct Support Professional) certification.
  • Ability to obtain DSP certifications within 90 days of employment.

 

Working Environment

  • Indoor and Outdoor program site and various community locations.

Supervision Exercised

  • Leadership responsibilities on shifts, including overseeing progress note review, documentation completion, and delegation of tasks. 
  • Serve as a supportive conduit for individuals and their families/guardians. 
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to facilitate home life meetings.
