Now Hiring: Direct Support Professional II (DSP II)
Locations: Northern Virginia: Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Burke, Falls Church, Manassas, Springfield, Vienna, Woodbridge
Available Shifts: Full Time, Part Time, Weekends
Are you experienced, compassionate, and ready to lead? At CRi, we’re looking for a Direct Support Professional II to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.
As a DSP II, you’ll go beyond basic care—you’ll mentor, advocate, and help transform lives, all while supporting a team and driving excellence.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and mentor staff during shifts
Provide direct support based on personalized care plans
Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals
Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking
Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community
Model professionalism and uphold CRi’s core values
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
- Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
- Ability to cook and manage household tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least 50% of DSP (Direct Support Professional) certification.
- Ability to obtain DSP certifications within 90 days of employment.
Working Environment
- Indoor and Outdoor program site and various community locations.
Supervision Exercised
- Leadership responsibilities on shifts, including overseeing progress note review, documentation completion, and delegation of tasks.
- Serve as a supportive conduit for individuals and their families/guardians.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to facilitate home life meetings.
