Extra Help or Part-Time position with rate of pay $17.50 per hour at Blanchard Springs Caverns State Park in Fifty-Six, AR.
Visitor Transportation position is responsible for safely transporting visitors between designated areas at Blanchard Springs Caverns following guided cave tours. This role plays an important part in ensuring a positive visitor experience by providing reliable, courteous, and efficient transportation services. The position supports overall park operations and may assist with additional duties as assigned.
Safely operate a passenger bus to transport visitors along established routes following cave tours.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
Maintain awareness of passenger safety during loading, unloading, and transit.
Provide courteous assistance and clear directions to visitors as needed.
Communicate effectively with staff to coordinate transportation schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
Follow all state driving laws, safety procedures, and Arkansas State Parks policies.
Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents promptly to supervisors.
Assist with visitor service needs when appropriate.
Valid driver's license (CDL required).
Ability to operate passenger transportation vehicles safely and responsibly.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to follow directions and adhere to safety procedures.
Dependable and punctual.

Job Summary
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure timely and efficient delivery or pick-up of materials and equipment, adhering to routes and schedules.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working condition, including checking fluid levels, tires, brakes, and other essential components.
Adhere to all traffic laws, speed limits, and road safety regulations while operating state-owned commercial vehicles.
Maintain accurate logs and records of hours worked, mileage, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries or pickups, in compliance with state and federal requirements.
Ensure compliance with hazardous material handling and transportation guidelines, if applicable to the vehicle or cargo being transported.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any issues to the appropriate maintenance staff for repair.
Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleaning the vehicle, ensuring the vehicle remains in optimal condition.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of trips, including timesheets, mileage logs, and delivery receipts.
Submit required reports on time and in the correct format to ensure proper tracking of vehicle usage and maintenance.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to drive safely under various weather conditions and terrain.
Understanding of traffic regulations, road safety rules, and commercial driving standards.
