Position: Technical Product Specialist

Location: Etters, PA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a Technical Product Specialist to join our Product Management and Marketing team. The position will be located in Etters, PA.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Technical Product Specialist to be a team player in High Speed IO Connectors who can regularly (daily if necessary) keep in touch with engineering, quality, production, and customer service, providing technical assistance and guidance in relation to the product line.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handling RFQs, RFPs, as well as costing and pricing of product lines
  • Managing product sampling on new programs, ensuring BOM costs are correct
  • Ensuring part numbering system is correctly implemented
  • Monitoring on-going cost reduction and implementation
  • Providing technical assistance to customers & sales team
  • Developing marketing materials including product literature, samples, sample cases, and other marketing collateral
  • Attending customer seminars & exhibition, visiting customers with local sales team to increase business level
  • Supporting distribution and salespeople in the region, owning the growth plan for assigned region
  • Pricing and RFQ analysis, ensuring accurate costing, BOM, and part number
  • Coordinating and managing multiple sampling programs for new products
  • Advocating for on-going Cost Reduction
  • Developing sales and marketing tools, providing technical assistance to customers and sales team
  • Other related marketing and planning duties as required
  • Job-related travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 + years related experience, ideally within an interconnect company
  • Prior work history as a Cost Analyst, Inventory Manager, Product Specialist, or Customer Service
  • Experience in technical sales or marketing, with wok in forecast and funnel management    
  • Telecom, Networking, or Storage OEM/CM sales or marketing experience Excellent English writing skills and advanced computer skills
  • Technical aptitude, including ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong maturity and judgment with good telephone and presentation skills
