Job Description

Summary

Lead corporate strategy for financial performance and growth in partnership with executive team.  Identify and create strategic opportunities that continue to propel PHG as a premier thought leader in the PBM and healthcare space.

Prescient Holdings Group (PHG) is a healthcare company providing pharmaceutical management solutions to payers, patients, and providers. We are focused on the developing the most effective strategies for optimizing drug access and spend through our suite of formulary and rebate services. The Senior Director, Finance & Analytics will support financial performance, strategy, and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for oversight, and management of the strategic planning and daily operations of the Finance team.
  • Support key financial objectives that align with the business plan for performance and growth. Engage all relevant members of the team to align financial and operational objectives.
  • Interacts and collaborates with Finance teams to refine and improve billing function, provide customized billing logic for specialized revenue, customers and projects. Continues to identify areas of improvement to streamline work processes and enhance billing functionality.
  • Support financial analysis, underwriting, and forecasts of current and prospective client business, vendor offerings, corporate initiatives, product launches and/or new service offerings.
  • Remains informed on changing market dynamics that impact business operations.  Develops strategies and solutions to maximize opportunities.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership influence and negotiating abilities through an informed data driven approach.
  • Leads efforts to enhance existing database and dashboarding functionality.  Offers routine guidance and solutions to improve user experience and executive level visibility.
  • Routinely monitors and clearly vocalizes potential risks pertaining to existing processes.  Suggests areas for improvement and appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborates on timeliness and accuracy of data and reporting provided to clients and vendors in accordance with contracted agreements.
  • Manages team that leads the day-to-day operations of the rebate billing, cash receipts and reconciliation process.
  • Ensures deliverables are on time, within budget and meet timeliness and accuracy of rebate payments made to clients and received from vendor partners.
  • Accountable for ensuring that polices and procedures are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
  • Hire, develop and manage accounting staff as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities        

Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.

                                   

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).  One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

BA/BS Degree or equivalent; plus 12 years’ related experience; 10 years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience); and 8 years supervisory experience; Supervisory experience may be substituted with 12 years of MedImpact or Sub/Afflicate experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader at the Director level or above that must be  completed within 12 months in new position. 

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite (with an emphasis on Excel, Power BI, and other database tools), Outlook and databases. Requires general familiarity with running queries against large pharmacy claims data set using tools such as SQL, Oracle,  and SAS.

Other Skills and Abilities

 

  • Direct experience with pharmaceutical manufacturers, PBM’s, and entities offering comparable pharmacy rebate services is highly preferred
  • Dynamic and vocal thought leader.  Willingness to engage in new areas and partner with various internal and external stakeholder groups.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

 

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, at weekends or on holidays as required.  Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires domestic travel of up to 10% of the time.
