Job Description

About the Department

Individual selected for this position will be responsible for preparing all aspects and wide range of the human resources field to include but not limited to the following: maintaining accurate human resources records, preparing or assisting in preparing related documents and transactions (resignations, retirements, dismissals). Enter or assist in entering work hours, status changes and new employee information and prepare for payroll processing and timekeeping for all employees. Enrolling new employees in the Kronos timeclock and educate staff on how to check their time in Kronos, provide biweekly calendar as needed, explain pay stubs and print pay stubs as requested. Other duties may include preparing and review forms for human resources, payroll and related areas. Prepare or assist in preparing with all aspects of donated leave requests, forms, tracking, etc. Track employees' hours for various types of leave such as FMLA, LOA, PLOA, Worker's Compensation, and work restrictions related to ADA. Track work restrictions/maintaining and submission of backup documentation. Review Employee Incident Reports and follow-up with employees and supervisors. Assist with license access to Kronos and mapping to correct supervisor. Position may require overtime and some weekend work to ensure agency/bureau policies are met. Experience with WV Oasis and/or Kronos is preferred. Will perform related duties as required and assigned by the Human Resources Director. Pre-employment drug screening test is required. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis.  Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable causes, as set forth in agency and bureau polices. This is a tobacco free campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

None.

Internal Applicants Only:

One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as an Human Resources Administrative Assistant.

Substitution Information: Additional education and experience may be substituted based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
