Job Description

Production Associate - Springs               

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
Starting Wage: $22/HR

Summary: 
The primary function of this position is to prepare and assemble garage door springs based on customer orders. This role involves reading order details, selecting the correct spring, and cutting it to the proper size when needed. Employees are responsible for ensuring each spring is built accurately, safely, and meets quality standards while working efficiently.

Essential Duties:
  1. Read and follow spring orders to understand required specifications.
  2. Select the closest matching spring and prepare it for modification if needed.
  3. Cut springs to the correct length using a torch and hand tools.
  4. Install cones and complete spring assembly according to order requirements.
  5. Learn to identify different spring types, including left-hand and right-hand wound springs.
  6. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment.
  7. Check finished springs to ensure accuracy and quality.
  8. Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
  9. Follow all safety procedures, especially when working with heated materials and tools.
Marginal Duties:
  1. Assist in Production or Shipping areas as requested.
  2. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and written, to ensure a clear understanding of work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Have prompt and reliable attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience: 
High School or GED required, and 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or; an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.

  • Safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection
  • ANSI approved boots or shoes
  • Torch
  • Basic hand tools
