    Community Unit School District 308 (SD308) is seeking qualified candidates to become School Bus Drivers for the district.

    Work hours will be varied.

    COMPENSATION:
    • $24.00 p/h (Rate of pay could be adjusted up to compensate for experience.)
    • Monthly attendance Bonus
    • Longevity Bonus
    Please note that the hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 21 years of age (or older) with high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Skills necessary to operate a school bus safely, communicate effectively, follow determined schedules.
    • In a timely manner, handle emergency situations, evaluations and administer first aid.
    • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing.
    • Exceptional driving record.
    • Knowledge of or ability to learn safety.
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Operate the school bus safely while managing and caring for students
    • Learn and adapt to each student's medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs
    • Serve as a role model demonstrating positive attitude and self-control
    • Protect the confidentiality of student records and information
    • Responsible to secure students who use child safety restraint systems
