    Position Description
    As a school-based Occupational Therapist hired directly through Brown County Schools, you will
    play a vital role in supporting students' development and independence within the school
    environment. This energetic position offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators,
    parents, and healthcare professionals to create tailored intervention plans that enhance each
    child's ability to participate fully in school activities. Your expertise will help foster a positive
    learning atmosphere by addressing diverse needs related to motor skills, sensory processing,
    and daily living activities within the school setting.
    Role and Responsibilities
    ? Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and
    functional abilities to identify areas for intervention.
    ? Develop and implement individualized education plans focused on improving students'
    participation in classroom activities and daily routines.
    ? Collaborate with teachers, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, and
    families to coordinate educational supports and build consistency across settings.
    ? Support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities by adapting
    activities and environments to meet their unique needs.
    ? Participate in educational planning for students transitioning between different
    educational settings, into the world of work or post-secondary opportunities.
    ? Provide guidance on classroom modifications, sensory strategies, and ergonomic
    techniques to optimize student engagement and comfort.
    Experience
    ? Prior experience working with children in school settings is preferred, including early
    intervention or pediatric therapy roles, but not required. We can support your transition
    from healthcare settings including long-term care.
    ? Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and how these
    relate to pediatric development.
    ? Experience assisting with implementing care plans for children with disabilities or special
    needs.
