Job Description

Title: Clinical Services Trainer, MA-C, LPN, or RN

Location: FCN Orchard Administrative Office

City: Bellingham, WA

Position: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation:

  • The full wage scale for a Clinical Services Trainer, MA-C is $27.70 - $38.17 per hour.
  • The full wage scale for a Clinical Services Trainer, LPN is $29.84 - $41.19 per hour.
  • The full wage scale for a Clinical Services Trainer, RN is $32.04 - $47.34 per hour.

Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate’s relevant experience.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Clinical Services Trainer is responsible for collaborating with Leadership to assess, design, and deliver clinical training programs for clinical assistant staff across FCN. This role supports consistent, high-quality, and compliant clinical practice by providing onboarding, ongoing education, workflow optimization, and competency-based training aligned with regulatory and organizational standards.

 

The Clinical Services Trainer partners closely with the Clinical Services Team, clinical leadership, and EMR teams to support patient-centered care, quality initiatives, and system implementations. Training is delivered both in person and virtually, with frequent travel to multiple clinics and counties. This position is cross trained to provide backup support to the Clinical Services Specialist.

 

Essential Job Functions

Clinical Training & Development

  • Develop, schedule, and deliver clinical training programs, including new hire orientation, clinical scope and ongoing competency training, workflow optimization, and system or program implementations.
  • Lead clinical training for MA-Rs and MA Apprentices, supporting skill development and transition to licensed clinical assistant roles.
  • Deliver training using adult learning principles, adapting content to learner skill level, clinical background, and operational needs.
  • Provide post-training support, coaching, and remediation when performance gaps are identified.
  • Ensure training supports safe patient care, scope of practice, and compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Document training completion, attendance, and competencies in the Learning Management System (LMS).

 

Practice Support & Quality

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Services Manager, executive leadership, and practice leadership to evaluate and improve clinic workflows.
  • Support FCN clinical quality initiatives, immunization programs, and regulatory readiness.

 

  • Audit clinical assistant performance when requested and provide constructive feedback.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to staff, managers, and vaccine coordinators.
  • Coordinate WAIIS access for new clinical assistants and aides as requested.

 

Curriculum & Materials

  • Assists with development and maintenance of clinical training materials, handbooks, policies, and resource documents.
  • Partner with internal and external instructors and subject matter experts to coordinate training sessions.
  • Prepare learning environments, including classroom setup, systems access, and training materials.
  • Assist with regulated education program for clinical staff, such as OSHA, BLS/AHA, and required clinical education programs.

 

Collaboration & Organizational Support

  • Partner with EMR and Clinical Services teams to support clinical components of New Hire Orientation.
  • Participate in committees or workgroups as a liaison to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Support training needs related to new clinics, enterprise growth, and new clinical programs.
  • Role model principles and culture of safety, process improvement, accountability and organizational values.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge and technical expertise in ambulatory healthcare.
  • Ability to train, coach, and influence staff at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, LMS platforms, and virtual training tools (e.g., MS Teams)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
